‘Official delivery’ of the first electrically powered compound feeder by Reesink Agri and Motrac Industries
The idea for an electrically powered feeder was first born at Motrac Industries more than two years ago. ‘We identified a change in demand. The ever-increasing focus on the environment and the increasingly strict laws and regulations in this area resulted in an increasing demand for electrical solutions in recent years’, states Maarten Vinkesteijn, Managing Director at Motrac Industries.
Electric: the greener future
Two years have now passed. The prototype has been extensively tested, gone through the initial teething problems and has now been developed into a highly sought after piece of machinery. The range of electrically powered units has been expanded with a capacity of 30, 40, 64 or 80 kWh, in order to meet demand more effectively. This allows for the investment to be better attuned to the required consumption.
‘A number of KUHN MoRe E compound feeders have already been commissioned this year. We were unfortunately forced to postpone the ‘official delivery’ of the first machine due to COVID-19. Demand for the compound feeder is still on the up, despite the corona crisis. The fact that electric is the greener future is definitely starting to get a firmer foothold now!’ according to Pieter Koeman, Director at Reesink Agri.
Attractive subsidies
Ramon Hesselink, dairy farmer at ’het Lentink’, is both happy and proud of his investment. The KUHN MoRe E helps Hesselink to reduce his CO2 emissions per litre of milk and his fuel and maintenance costs are a great deal lower too. ‘This is a very interesting time to invest in the KUHN MoRe E, thanks to the JOLA (young farmers) subsidy and the attractive MIA/VAMIL scheme,' Hesselink says.
